Tourism is one of the world’s fastest growing industries and an important source of foreign exchange and employment for many developing countries. In reviewing the first five years’ implementation of Agenda 21 in 1997 at its nineteenth Special Session, the General Assembly indicated the need to give further consideration to the importance of tourism in the context of Agenda 21. In 2002, the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg addressed sustainable tourism in the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation.

Video for the MSc Degree on Management of Sustainable and Ecological Tourism (MEST). A Master program that accommodates a wide range of knowledge related to ecotourism, beginning to the definition of a general frame, to continue with the study of modules related to natural and cultural heritage, ecotourism products, green building, marketing and management, from the point of view of sustainability. Optional subjects will cover aspects related to sport tourism, rural tourism or nature tourism, offering a wide range of possibilities in tourism sector.
